NEW KAICHO FOR THE KENSANKAI
On August 20, 2022, Hanshi Judan Doug Perry transferred the roles and responsibilities of Kaicho to Kyoshi Hachidan Jason Perry. Kyoshi Jason Perry has assumed the Kaicho title of the Kensankai and will usher in the next generation of Karateka and guide the future of the association started by his father.

Little Okinawa Experience draws hundreds

The sound of wooden staff striking wooden staff broke the normally silent stillness of the morning air in Flat Rock over the weekend.
Passers by peered curiously.
People clad in white robes and pants with belts tied around their waists moved in unison practicing the ancient art of Okinawan Karate. Over 170 Martial Artists from 21 different Martial Arts traditions and three countries descended on Hendersonville for the 23rd “Little Okinawa Experience” Karate Camp held Thursday and Friday last week.
Hendersonville has been a popular destination for Karate practitioners for more than 23 years since Doug Perry, President of the Shorin Ryu Kensankai Karate Association, began hosting the event in 1991.

THE 1st OKINAWA KARATE INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT

The Tournament Overview has officially been published

The Overview of the 1st Okinawa Karate International Tournament has been published on our website today.
The preliminary rounds in Okinawa will be held in March 2018, and an inaugural dedication, cultural exchange reception, competition (KATA), and Okinawa karate seminar, etc. will be carried out during the main tournament in August 2018.
Furthermore, at the Kata competition to be held from August 2 to August 5, mainland Japan/overseas preliminary rounds will be carried out in the first half, and the main tournament of high-scoring athletes of the Okinawa and mainland Japan/overseas preliminary rounds will be conducted in the second half.
